Course Profile

Today, one of the fastest-growing business sectors is the digital economy, which relies on the use of modern IT technologies to conduct business effectively. The key challenges in this area are implementing digital transformation processes, creating and offering innovative solutions based on digital technologies, and using data to make informed decisions based on the knowledge obtained from them.

What are the advantages of studying Digital Economy?

Digital Economy is an innovative and unique field of study that combines the scientific achievements and teaching experience of the staff at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun with the knowledge and competence of business practitioners who actively cooperate in the creation of the study program and participate in the teaching process. Their wide-ranging competencies have made it possible to create this interdisciplinary course that presents up-to-date knowledge in finance, economics, IT technology, modern methods of data analysis, and marketing, which are necessary in the labor market.

Additionally, the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at NCU houses the Center for Digital Economy and Finance, which specializes in research on the digital economy on a pan-European scale.

Our students have ample opportunities to gain experience through numerous student organizations, academic circles, and internships in various national and international companies. They also have the chance to study at partner universities abroad. An unquestionable advantage of studying at NCU is its location in Torun, a beautiful city known for its many attractions for students.

Digital Economy offers two specializations (starting in the second year) depending on students’ interests:

    Digital Innovation in Business and FinTech,

    Data Science in Business.

Education Requirements

In case of application to first (BA) or long-cycle (MA) studies – the original of secondary school (maturity) certificate and transcript of grades, entitling a candidate to undertake university-level study in country in which the certificate / document was issued; ( should any external/uniform examination is necessary to pursue university level education in the country of origin, NCU also requires a proof of taking such an examination as it stipulated by the Polish education law).
