Course Description

Course Profile

The Finance and Accounting offers a modern study program, adapted to the requirements of the contemporary labor market. It allows to provide the newest knowledge, skills, and competencies that help graduates to obtain attractive employment in the professions related to finance. The course is addressed in particular to students who plan to develop their career in international business or in international financial institutions.

Nowadays, more and more leading foreign entities, global banks, international investment companies and foreign consulting agencies recruit on the Polish market, and more Poles are being promoted in the organizational structures of global tycoons. Therefore, the studies of Finance and Accounting offered by NCU are the excellent responses to this trend. Since all classes within the framework of Finance and Accounting studies are conducted in English, graduates can immediately take up work in entities operating globally and build their professional position at the leading employers in the world.

Studies in the field of Finance and Accounting, conducted exclusively in English, contain the unique proposition, available in a very narrow group of selected universities in Poland. In the NCU offer, students will have a choice of 2 specialties: Corporate finance and accounting or Financial markets and institutions.

The Corporate finance and accounting focuses on employment and career development within the financial and accounting departments of international enterprises. It includes global corporations, international audit, and international financial consulting agencies. It is intended for students who want to develop their analytical abilities and wish to gain practical, professional knowledge of corporate finance and corporate finance management. The specialization allows to acquire knowledge and skills that permit to perform advisory, analytical or managerial work. Particularly in the field that assesses financial statements, creates a goodwill, and assesses a risk. Additionally, it allows to better understand the dynamically changing sphere of finance, and thus it explains how to make more responsible financial decisions.

The Financial markets and institutions is intended for students interested in working for international financial institutions and banks as asset managers, or anyone who wants to invest in international markets. This specialization is also addressed to everyone who wants to develop the skills in the field of payments and digital solutions within finance or everybody who is interested in stock exchanges and financial investments. This is also a good choice for anyone who wants to acquire and develop modern, professional knowledge in the field of financial markets, financial institutions, and risk management.

Education Requirements

In case of application to second-cycle (MA) studies – the higher education diploma (MA, BA, engineer diploma or equivalent) and transcript of grades obtained during the course of study, entitling a candidate to continue university-level study in country in which the diploma was issued, or original of the certificate confirming graduation from studies and containing information on level, programme and profile of studies, obtained professional title and result defined in words together with statement, in which candidate undertakes to present the original or certified copy of the higher education diploma within 30 days from the day of its issuance, under pain of removal from the list of students
